The Louisiana 6 are a Dublin based 50's style Skiffle 6 piece.
Formed in 2009 by Brian 'Slim' Brereton - who was the original box bass & washboard player of the 1957 Skiffle Champions of Ireland - The Louisiana 5 - also managed by his father Jack Brereton. Keeping it in the family Brian's 2 sons John & Tony from the band Sack also play in the band: on rhythm guitar and drums respectively. The line up is completed by blues harp maestro Donal Mooney, lead guitarist Morgan Baker (from the parish of Atlanta, Georgia) and on double bass is the amazing American Karl Deeter.
The Louisiana 6 have supported American stars such as Pokey LaFarge & The South City Three, Big Sandy & His Fly Rite Boys and The Quarrymen - a Liverpool skiffle band who's original two members were John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Well we know what happened to them!
This show will showcase a complete history of Skiffle Music in Ireland led by Slim B. Stories, Q&A and of course a 100% pure set of the best Skiffle Music ever played.
