Rob Heron & Tea Pad Orchestra

Special guests: The Louisiana 6
The Grand Social team up again with roots specialists Ubangi Stomp Club to present the amazing Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra for a night of hot trottin’ swing, blues and gypsy jazz as part of the Musictown Festival program.
Rob Heron & the Tea Pad Orchestra are one of the hardest working bands in the UK roots circuit. With thousands of touring miles under their belts, they have earned themselves a sizeable fan base in the UK, Europe and beyond. Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, they play their own brand of Western Swing, Blues, Gypsy Jazz and Country, or “North Eastern Swing” as they’ve coined it.

Their style is more eclectic than most, influenced by early 20th century American music, with the addition of “razor-sharp” solos, great arrangements and original songs; their music harks
back to a golden age whilst staying perfectly modern. The songs are penned by Rob Heron, a crazy fool for country music and a full time dandy-cowboy. His songs are full of character,
satire, and good old fashion hollerin’.
The band, a hot six-piece, features Ben Fitzgerald (guitar), Tom Cronin (mandolin), Colin Nicholson (accordion), Ted Harbot (double bass) and Paul Archibald (drums).
Their debut album, ‘Money Isn’t Everything’, caused a sensation when it was released in 2012,
winning a host of rave reviews – many of them 5-star. Their second album, “Talk About The
Weather” (released July 7th 2014) is also gathering some notable radio play and reviews.

The best way to experience Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra is at a live show!

Holy Wave 3rd long layer “Freaks of Nurture” coming March 2016 onLEVITATION The Reverberation Appreciation Society

Holy Wave are a band of multi-instrumentalists from Austin, TX. The band’s sound has evolved into a unique blend of sun baked surf-psychedelia. Holy Wave create a brand of psych that brings to mind fellow Texans like The 13th Floor Elevators and modern contemporaries like The Black Angels and Night Beats, dyed in carefully constructed noise with an attention to detail echoing the work of shoegaze influences like My Bloody Valentine and Spectrum.

The band has performed extensively around the states including Austin Psych Fest 3, 4, 5.

Generating thick layers of sound that twist and turn through a complex labyrinth of reverb and echo, Holy Wave are a garage-psych band from Austin, Texas who uphold the Lone Star State’s long-standing reputation for top-notch lysergic sounds. Featuring multi-instrumentalists Joey Cook, Ryan Fuson, Kyle Hager, Julian Ruiz, and Dustin Zozaya, Holy Wave were formed in 2008 when Hager and Ruiz decided to leave their hometown of El Paso, Texas for the more musically friendly environment of Austin; the musicians first drove from El Paso to Santa Monica, California to catch a rare show by My Bloody Valentine, and then made their way back to their new hometown. After making a name for themselves in Austin (and becoming regular guests at the annual Austin Psych Fest), they released their first LP in 2011, Knife Hits (the title comes from their favored method of smoking hashish). In 2012, Holy Wave released an EP, The Evil Has Landed, and these first two releases were paired up on a 2013 collection called Evil Hits. In early 2014, Holy Wave issued their second proper album, simply titled Relax.
Artist Biography by Mark Deming

“What stands out about Holy Wave is the sonic textures they apply to make their sound pierce through the smoke-filled haze that engulfs most psych bands”
