Sorcha Richardson is a singer/songwriter from Dublin currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Since releasing an EP of bedroom-made demos in college, she has been honing her style of alternative-pop music on singles such as Petrol Station, Lost, Ruin Your Night and Waking Life, receiving praise from the likes of Zane Lowe, BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart and The FADER. She has performed at CMJ and Northside Festival and played to sold-out crowds at some of New York’s best venues, including Brooklyn’s Rough Trade, opening for Jens Lekman.
Sorcha returned to Dublin in the summer of 2017 for what she intended to be a 6 week break but decided to extend her stay after being offered a number of gigging opportunities. This included her first Dublin headline show in 3 years at The Grand Social in September, an appearance atOther Voices in Dingle, a performance at Ruby Sessions’ renowned Christmas series, alongside James Vincent McMorrow and Danny O’Reilly (The Coronas) and a support slot with Imelda May on her Irish Tour. Sorcha was also included in RTE’s 2FM’s “Rising Artists” shortlist and is named in a number of “One’s to Watch” lists for 2018.
This show celebrates Sorcha’s forthcoming single “Can’t We Pretend,” set for release this Spring and is the only Irish date she has planned before returning to the US in February.
